ESD 20:20 Certification: ESD Protection Within and Beyond Circuitries

Technology is growing more sophisticated but less resistant to electrostatic discharge (ESD). Even a weak zap can fry a device's sensitive electronics and render it useless. However, the danger ESD poses comes even before a circuit board finds its way to a smartphone or tablet. For Timothy Puls, product marketing engineer for Semtech, it's ""kill or be killed—protect components from ESD charges, or suffer the loss of your products.

AS9120 Certification Must Be Followed by Endless Dedication to Quality

Fighter aircrafts like the F-15 are subjected to extreme G-forces in the air. Sharp turns can pull as much as 7 Gs, which both pilot and aircraft should be able to withstand. Aircraft parts like wing pins must be designed to handle these stresses with ease, or the risk of losing an aircraft to high G-forces than in actual combat would be greater. It goes without saying that many of the Air Force's aircrafts have established a long-standing reputation for ruggedness, with the F-15 as no exception. In fact, in 1983, an Israeli Air Force F-15D lost its right wing after a mid-air collision with an A-4N Skyhawk during a mock air battle. While the Skyhawk pilot ejected, the Eagle pilot—Zivi Nedivi—maintained control long enough to land safely.

ISO Registration: What an ISO 9001 Certification Can Mean for Business

The International Organization of Standardization (ISO) has established a set of internationally recognized standards that a company or organization needs to meet in order to be certified for its quality management processes. These standards are known as ISO 9001. When a company or organization achieves an ISO 9001 certification, this means that its operations have achieved the highest form of efficiency and productivity. So what can an ISO certification mean for your business? For starters, it can help you achieve a new level of performance. Take a look at your company’s operations and ask yourself if it has issues that occur time and time again. Recurring problems are hindrances to your productivity and effectiveness, and should therefore be resolved. An ISO certification can do just that.
